Scenes From a Soccer Game

Sunday: hot and sunny and no shade. But the boys still had fun. We had a friend from church with us, too, so he and J took turns playing with my P&S camera while hubby and I traded the big one. I think these are all hubby’s though:

Or maybe this one is mine? It’s a [...]

SeaWorld of San Antonio

We found out about SeaWorld’s homeschool day a couple days before. I didn’t know we’d get to go until the day before. Rush, rush, rush! When I found out we were going, after church we had to hit Walmart for ponchos but they had none. We ended up with umbrellas which pleased the boys to [...]

Soccer Season!

NM’s on yet another new team this year. Lord willing, if we do this for a few more seasons, he’ll have the same team and coach.
Needless to say, he’s more than happy about getting to practice and play again. He was even more estatic when his team won their first game last Sunday. They won, [...]

Making Friends

Well, that was the idea anyway.
This little squirrel surprised me. She was awfully close to us while we were playing at one end of the park. When J wanted to approach her—he asked nicely—she didn’t scamper up a tree but she did keep a safe distance.
It turned out that the ground was covered with goldfish [...]

Rain!

It rained buckets last night. On top of buckets, we had barrels and maybe even swimming pools emptied over Austin.
And it was still raining today.
The boys got up and each got to work cleaning their rooms and J got done supah fast. He really wanted to finish watching the Star Wars movie from last [...]

He’s got moves

I forgot to share the result of our little photo session the other day.

POP! Paarti

So a dear friend from church, JC, shared this video with me. She made Aarti’s popcorn and brought some to church last Wednesday. My, if I didn’t have manners I would have eaten the WHOLE bowl. You think I’m kidding, don’t you? Silly.
Perfect day to share this with you: my daddy used to pop popcorn [...]

9-9-09

So nostalgia has gripped me all over again.
Today would have been my daddy’s 93rd birthday. I do miss him.
But you know what? Can I share something?
When he died, hubby, NM and I made that long flight to Manila to attend services for him. My goodness, I was sad. I’d been talking to him [...]

Just Another Day Off

Starting the post with a tangent: the little one asked me this morning, “Mom, where’s that one place we went with the guns and the old building and the tea party?” Me: “You forgot what it’s called? Remember? The Alamo?” Hahaha. Hah.
But really, we wanted to share about the day after the Alamo. I don’t [...]

To the Alamo!

Hubby decided to make this weekend go from three- to five-day time off for fun. Fun! He wanted to head down to San Antonio, so we did. Poor Sprocket stayed behind, but our neighbors came by to take some of our pea gravel and took her home, too. She loves them all over again. So…off [...]
